Many of the same tree inventory techniques go into mapping an irrigation system. Types of irrigation heads are located and identified using GPS. The coordinates are put into PDM or PDM-O allows viewing from a desktop computer or field unit. PDM/PDM-O system provides information including dates and a record of who performed the work. Both systems provide exact head counts, maintenance update information, and exact distances from head to head or green to head.
